I’d like to apologize in advance for how long this post might be. I usually write these in a Google Doc and this post them butttttt I didn’t feel like it today 🙂
Last Friday to Monday, I was in Atlanta! I had an amazing trip! I got to see my mom and cousin and close friends including my bestest! I was so sad when I had to leave. While there, I visited with people, went to the High Museum of Art’s Picasso to Warhol exhibit (check Dom’s Thought Bubble soon for a post on that), the World Natural Hair Show, and had a lot of food. Mmmmmmmmm food!
The week before I left was CRAZY! I had to get a lot done before I left, meaning some deadlines were shortened. Oh, I earned my trip lol! Unfortunately, I only worked out two days that week 🙁
To make matters worse, I didn’t go AT ALL this week. This week was busy but not THAT busy. I’ll admit, I was lazy. I got back around 11pm Monday night and went straight to bed. I just didn’t feel like I recovered for a few days. Also, I was having trouble with my food. As in eating more than what I needed or having thing I didn’t need to eat in the first place. It wasn’t bad everyday for every meal but it still went awry. The thing that saved me was going semi grocery shopping on Tuesday. So as long as I ate the meal I cooked, I was good. I also was good on breakfast.
This weekend, I’m getting back on track. A couple weeks ago, I changed my shopping again. And this week I made one more change. I’m just making one meal a week (not counting breakfast and snacks). I noticed food doesn’t go bad this way. On the weekends, I make a meal just for the weekend. One week I had 3 servings (fri, sat, sun) of baked chicken with basil garlic pasta. This weekend was 2 servings (sat and sun because I ate at work yesterday) of mussels and asparagus. I had Southwestern Pizza for 4 days and then I got a change, which was nice. I went grocery shopping last night for next week’s foods.
I’m also trying different breakfast foods. This week’s breakfast has been deviled eggs and my green smoothie with a few changes. I’ll post recipes at some point…….I promise 🙂 I’m not a huge recipe follower so I usually find one and modify it. I’ll post the original and mine. That’s why I haven’t done it yet. I have to force myself to measure. Side bar: my mom gets mad that I don’t always measure. I’m one of those ppl who can just guess with certain things and then I can’t remember what I used or how much, lol!
Anywho, so far so good today! Also starting Couch to 5K again on Monday! OH! I found an app for it! I should also post all these apps lol! It tracks your progress for you as you go through the program!
One last thing. Because it was over one weekend that I went off the wagon after a month of doing fairly well, I did notice changes in how I felt. I felt sluggish and heavy and bloated at times. I didn’t like that feeling AT ALL! That was a good bit of motivation on it’s own lol!
